I was used to winning... but he took that away.

I was supposed to be MVP of our high school championship game.

He stole that too.

Willow Bay was my shot at a fresh start.

Away from the disappointing looks of my father. Away from him.

But I was wrong. About everything.

Weston Jackson was everywhere.  On my team, on my mind, in my classes, and even under the same roof.

I hated the way he made me feel things that I couldn’t give into without turning my world upside down.

I wanted to make him pay. For the way my father now looked at me. For the way I saw myself.

Most of all for wanting him the way I did...
